New Call of Duty

Call of Duty: WWII's latest limited-time event has been announced for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and it looks like a big one. The Resistance Event will be officially kicking off next week offering themed drops, double XP, and tons more.

The Resistance Event will take place in WWII from January 23 to February 27-and it'll feature a ton of free content. Called The Resistance, it's free and adds a bunch of new game modes and gear, as well as a new Division. As you can see in the trailer, the Resistance Division will be able to use a pistol and knife combo, scramble nearby enemy mini-maps, gain an extra pistol attachment and more.

The Resistance event kicks off on January 23, with Demolition serving as a limited-time playlist for the first week. Faster-paced and more accessible, this classic favorite will return for two weeks during The Resistance.

Sledgehammer Games has deployed another patch for Call of Duty: WWII, this time zeroing in on balancing some of the game's weapons, which means tweaks to the Lee Enfield, the Kar98k, the Combat Shotgun and the Sawed-Off Shotgun, among others.

New weapons, game modes, items, and rewards will all be included throughout the duration of the event, with a similar schedule to the "Winter Seige" Community Event that took place throughout December.

First and foremost, three new weapons are going to be added: the Volkssturgewehr rifle, the ORSO sub-machine gun, and the 9mm SAP pistol. Players can earn a total of five Resistance Supply Drop by logging in during each week of the event, and note that free Supply Drops do not carry over, so you must log in to redeem them each week.
