#CHAN2018: Faleye fires Super Eagles past Libya

Nigeria left it late to secure a win in their African Nations Championship (CHAN) Group C match against Libya on Friday.

Nigeria's forward play lacked any sharpness while Libya offered next to nothing despite winning myriad of set pieces in risky positions.

Nigeria temporarily move to the top of Group C with four points from two games, while awaiting the result of the tie between Rwanda and Equatorial Guinea.

The Mediterranean Knights began the tournament with a 3-0 victory over Equatorial Guinea in Tangier on Monday.

Thierry Manzi headed home from a corner after 67 minutes to give Rwanda a deserved lead.

Mohammed Aleyat subsequently sent a low effort just wide of Ikechukwu Ezenwa's far post before Nigeria ended the first half by carving out another shot on target, although Muhammad Nashnoush comfortably dealt with the danger.

The score was 0-0 at half-time following a tightly contested first-half with both teams looking very organized at the back.

Nigeria were bright from the first whistle and threatened the Libyan goal as early as the second minute.

Moments later, Faleye's cross found Ogbugh, whose header was too weak to trouble Libya goalie Nashnush.

In the 79th minute, the Eagles then got the match's winning goal via Faleye.

However, where the Super Eagles' opening-day draw against Rwanda was down to missed opportunities, Friday's game was more about a lack of them.
