Governor Walker cancels Easter egg hunt due to Jakubowski manhunt

Here's a list of the public Easter egg hunts and other related activities the Leader has received for the weekend.

That's why we've saved you a step and rounded up nine of them here. There will be plenty of free crafts, indoor activities and outdoor fun.

There will be a community Easter Egg Hunt from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 15 at Timrod Park.

Later on, the tradition spread across America and started to include chocolates, candies, gifts, and decorated baskets filled with eggs, chicks, and bunny shapes. The event is 10 noon at Park Middle School in Kennewick.

There will be some extra candy on hand for any children who don't find an egg of their own at both Trail Station Park and the fire house.

Pre-register online, or the day of from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Egg hunts cost 2 tickets ($2 per ticket). It takes place at Red Mountain Library, 635 N. Power Road, Mesa, from 2-3 p.m. on Saturday. The raffle will be 11:45 at the main stage. The event is free and is for children ages 1-12. Kids ages 3 and up can collect the floating eggs and trade them in for fun prizes.

American Legion Tech Sgt. Jack D. Levy Post 573, 225 Cox Drive, 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday. Go for an Easter Egg Hunt! There will be three worship services - a traditional service is set for 8 a.m., a contemporary service will follow the egg drop and a Spanish service will be at 11:15 a.m. After all the eggs have been found, (and their will be special prizes for the different age group hunters who find the "golden eggs"), there will be a potluck meal back in the Pavilion.

Top prizes include 20 bicycles and tricycles and 30 Easter Baskets.

"Join the merchants and shops of Historic Downtown Ridgeway for our Annual Easter Egg Hunt April 15", according to the BIA website.

Then, there will be the Egg Scramble in John Shaw Field at noon. Youth will be divided into age groups to take turns hunting up all the eggs.

There is a chance for rain in the forecast, and an announcement will be made by 9 a.m., Saturday if inclement weather necessitates changing the location to inside the former Allen Park Ice Rink.
