'The Mighty Ducks' reboot series is officially in the works

A TV show for their new streaming service Disney+ is now in production.

Disney+ streaming service will be the home of Disney, Star Wars and Marvel.

It comes after it was previously announced that a long-awaited sequel to Hocus Pocus is set to come to Disney in the near future.

Disney+ has another reboot in the works. Plans for the show were announced early previous year but word on the project was quiet for a while there.

It has also found its showrunners and plot.

It's now undetermined whether the original cast will be making a comeback in this new TV series, but from what we know so far, the show will be about a 13-year old boy whose mom assists him in creating a new hockey team after he was kicked off his own.

Back in the 90s, a film called The Mighty Ducks came out, starring Emilio Estevez as a lawyer who, after being arrested for driving drunk, was forced to coach a kid's hockey team as a form of community service.

Original series writer Steven Brill and producer Jordan Kerner were reported to be on board. Therefore, the junior hockey team element looks to be the only thing kept from the original.

The NHL awarded the Walt Disney Company an expansion franchise that began play in 1993 in Anaheim, Calif. Disney named the club The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim as a tie-in to the first movie. I have fond memories of an animated series. Hopefully, the cartoon will be part of Disney Plus's massive back catalog.

The Mighty Ducks reboot has not been given a release date yet. The movie spawned two sequels, and led to the naming of the National Hockey League team the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, later renamed the Anaheim Ducks. Leave your thoughts and comments below, or on our social medias.
