Frances Tiafoe and Miomir Kecmanovic complete semi-final line-up in Milan

Tiafoe joined Jannik Sinner in progressing from Group B in Milan with a four-2 four-two four-two defeat of Mikael Ymer.

In the semifinals, Tiafoe will face top-seeded Alex de Minaur of Australia, who beat fourth-seeded Casper Ruud of Norway 4-1, 4-0, 4-2 on Thursday to win Group A with a ideal 3-0 record.

The 20-year-old De Minaur was runner-up last season at the year-end event for the best under-21 players. "That's something that helps me, in a way, to stay in the moment", De Minaur said. "The more you gain, the longer you can continue to be, so I'm satisfied to be in the semis". "I just like being in Milan and playing in Milan".

The Serb will take on Sinner, who went down 4-3 (7-5) 3-4 (3-7) 4-2 4-2 to Ugo Humbert in the final round-robin match. Fans are unbelievable here. You know, that's just me, my opinion.

"I think obviously they are doing some great things with trying new rules and innovations here in Milan, and it will be a matter of time to see if any of these stick or we come up with new ideas".

Miomir Kecmanovic of Serbia won the other Group A match, beating Norwegian Casper Ruud 4-3 (5), 4-3 (5), 4-2.

The semifinals will be played Friday with the final on Saturday. He is the first Italian to make the semi-finals in the tournament's three-year history.

Kecmanovic prevailed in 58 minutes by easily winning the first two sets, before battling on a tie-break in the last set to finish 4-1, 4-1, 4-3 (6).

De Minaur will face American Frances Tiafoe for a place in the final.
