Disney+ launch date for Ireland finally announced

They'll also be rounding up pretty much everything in their past catalogs under the Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic banners to date.

The news goes back against Disney's previous promise that Disney would be "wholly subscription supported".

Disney Plus is set to launch with the aforementioned Star Wars: The Mandalorian, The Lady and the Trap live action remake and a raft of original television shows, movies and gradually the entirety of Disney's movie and TV library - including all of the Disney Vault titles.

Disney's video streaming service Disney+ is about to make a big splash in the video streaming market next week.

Obviously the release date comes as something of a disappointment for United Kingdom folks who wanted to have the service as close as possible to the day and date of North American release which is set for November 12, 2019.

The announcement comes a few weeks after reports surfaced that the two companies disagreed on business terms related to the carriage of the service, as well as other Disney apps on Amazon devices.

Earlier this week, it was reported that French pay TV operator Canal+ is in advanced negotiations to become the exclusive distributor of Disney+ in France.

Amazon and Disney have come to an eleventh hour agreement that will put the Disney+ streaming service on Amazon's Fire TV platform when it debuts on November 12. In the latter case, the streaming service would be offered for a few euros extra to nearly all Canal+ subscribers, according to La Lettre A.
