Jets Wide Receiver Quincy Enunwa Out for 2019 After Suffering Neck Injury

New York Jets receiver Quincy Enunwa suffered another serious neck injury. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the team is set to sign veteran Sam Ficken after inviting several players to a Tuesday tryout.

The New York Jets' search for a kicker lasted all offseason and bled into Week 1. The victor appears to be the Penn State alum Ficken. Enunwa has played all five of his National Football League seasons with the Jets after being drafted in the sixth round of the 2014 draft. His lone regular-season action has come with the Los Angeles Rams during the 2017 and 2018 campaigns. The Browns converted 1 of 10 third downs, committed three turnovers, missed an extra point and missed a bunch of tackles. Vedvik missed his lone extra-point attempt of the afternoon, as well as a 45-yard field goal try at the end of the first half of an eventual 17-16 loss to Buffalo.

As we said, the kicking game has been an issue for the Jets since Jason Myers signed with the Seattle Seahawks in March.

The team claimed Vedvik off waivers after he was released by the Minnesota Vikings. Chandler Catanzaro struggled in August before abruptly retiring and Taylor Bertolet wasn't much better.

Back to beginning of MNF on September 21, 1970, only that one was Jets-Browns in Cleveland and it was Howard Cosell, Dandy Don and Keith Jackson in the TV booth for Browns' historic 31-21 win.
