UFC fighter Mike Perry suffers nasty broken nose at UFC Uruguay

Vicente Luque managed to score the biggest win of his career to date with a stunning showdown against Mike Perry at UFC Uruguay last night.

Perry was the aggressor from the start of the match. Perry tried to be creative with his angles and combinations.

Perry lost a hard-fought split decision and was on the wrong end of a badly broken nose in the fight. When he comes back to the Octagon, he will be coming off of a loss to Luque.

The two fighters fell to the canvas as Luque attempted a front choke while a deluge of blood flowed from Perry's nose onto Luque's chest and all over the mat. Despite a mediocre UFC record, Perry is one of the most popular fighters in the sport right now as he always puts on a good show for the fans and is also very quotable.

Luque has been quietly carving out a reputation for himself as one of the UFC's most underrated prospects.

The welterweight received treatment on his nose after the fight, but according to ESPN's Heidi Androl, he was eventually taken to a hospital for a CT scan after having trouble breathing. Still though, full credit to Perry for refusing to quit despite a horrific injury. Kawa said he had some previous fractures in his nose that had to be taken care, as well, so the surgery was a bit lengthy. He expected to remain in Uruguay for at least a couple days.
