Man pushes BMW into river after parents refused to buy Jaguar

An 18-year old man from India reportedly pushed his brand new BMW into a river after receiving the German auto for his birthday.

A man allegedly sank his BMW into a river because he was angry his parents didn't buy him a Jaguar. The BMW eventually got stuck on a patch of grass in the middle of the river, causing Akash to jump into the water to go after it. "He deliberately pushed (the) luxury vehicle BMW into the river".

Local police say the man filmed the vehicle in the water and sent the video to his parents.

The young man's father told local media that his son had not deliberately driven the auto into the river but had swerved to avoid an antelope on the road.

But he was unhappy with the auto, say local police, because it was too small for him and his mates.

Police in the north Indian state of Haryana say the 22-year-old man, identified only as Akash, received a BMW from his parents as a birthday present.

"We could only afford to give him a BMW, while he kept on insisting that he be given a Jaguar". The auto was driven to the edge of the bank, and then pushed the rest of the way.

"We thought there may be somebody in the auto but when those engaged in the rescue operation reached the vehicle they found none inside", said one unidentified villager.

In India, a BMW costs roughly $50,000 while a Jaguar can cost around $70,000.

A Jaguar vehicle takes part in a driving display at the Goodwood Festival Of Speed at Goodwood in Chichester, United Kingdom, on July 12, 2018.
