Police poster girl, Khafi Kareem defied her bosses to appear in a series of steamy romps on TV, dubbed Big Brother Naija pepper dem edition taking place in Lagos.

Audiences in Nigeria have been caught up in their liaisons, of which there has been three, but she will now be the subject of an investigation by the Met's Directorate of Professional Standards.

Pc Kareem was pictured in November alongside Cressida Dick, Metropolitan Police commissioner, to celebrate 100 years of women in the force.

She is now starring in the African reality TV show, with a chance of winning prize money worth £68,000.

But she was granted unpaid leave and entered the show, in which she has formed a relationship with fellow contestant Ekpata Gedoni, 31, the Sun reported.

A post on the website of Africa Magic, the television channel which broadcasts Big Brother Naija, says Kareem joined the show "so that she can do societal good". Despite being told not to appear, publicity for Big Brother: Naija showed Khafi in her uniform.

One article said: 'There are now fears that Khafi may leave Big Brother Naija House pregnant as she and lovebird Gedoni continued their sizzling romance.

"Police officer Khafi Kareem believes that you can have it all if you believe in yourself".

United Kingdom policewoman and current BBNaija 2019 housemate Khafi is well known for her intimate relationship with fellow housemate Ekpata Gedoni.

"What people don't know about her is that she is secretly talented in spoken word, singing and dancing".

A London resident, Kareem is believed to have joined Scotland Yard as a PC based in Lambeth, south London in 2015.

The police constable, who once stood alongside Met Commissioner Cressida Dick to promote female and black recruitment, was told not to take part in Nigeria's Big Brother. Permission was not given.

"The Met is aware the officer has since appeared on the show without authority".

He added that an investigation is being carried out into the cop's behaviour.

"The Met does not support the officer's appearance nor does she represent Met while appearing on the show".

The off-duty officer has also posted a statement requesting that the UK Sun newspaper withdraw an article that alleges she faces the sack for having sex on the show.

In a statement released on her official Instagram handle on Tuesday, the management wrote, "Khafi is a proud black female officer who prides herself in her work and has dedicated her youthful years protecting and serving with her many skills which include the ability to speak at least five worldwide languages".
