Actor Danny Trejo helps save baby trapped in auto in LA

It happened in real life on Wednesday.

Trejo is a prolific movie and television actor and restaurateur known for such films as "Machete" and "Grindhouse".

USA actor Danny Trejo played a real-life hero when he helped rescue a boy trapped in an overturned vehicle after a collision at a Los Angeles intersection. He crawled into the vehicle and, with the help of a female bystander who had crawled in from the other side of the auto, the pair managed to free the child from the restraints.

Acting fast, the Machete star crawled into the totaled auto from one side, but said he was unable to reach the child's vehicle seat.

Trejo left one piece of advice to L.A. -area motorists: "Pay attention".

The Los Angeles Fire Department says three people were taken to a hospital, and there were no life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the accident is now under investigation, although Trejo said it looked like one of the drivers ran a red light.

While Trejo is being praised for his heroism, he explained to ABC 7 "the only thing that saved that little kid was his auto seat, honest to God". However, Trejo alleges one of the drivers ran a red light.

Authorities respond to a two-car collision in Sylmar on August 7, 2019.

While at the scene, the actor also shared this touching statement: "Everything good that has happened to me has happened as a direct result of helping someone else". He distracted the boy until grandma was OK.
