Cavs, Lakers want to talk to Howard

According to ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, the Cavs have begun conducting interviews in their coaching search this week, and both Juwan Howard and Dallas Mavericks assistant Jamahl Mosley will be included in those interviews. In addition to Williams, they will interview Lue and Howard this upcoming week as well. Wojnarowski added that the Cavaliers will also interview Utah Jazz assistant coach Alex Jensen and Portland Trail Blazers assistant David Vanterpool at later dates.

Howard of course first gained fame as a member of the Fab Five at the University of MI. He was selected with the No. 5 overall pick in the 1994 NBA Draft and went on to play for almost two decades.

Assistant Coach Monty Williams coaches during a practice on December 11, 2018 at The Philadelphia 76ers Practice Facility in Camden, New Jersey. He has been serving as an assistant coach under Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra since 2013.

With the inclusion of Howard, it is interesting to note that the two coaches that the Lakers reportedly have expressed interest in include two coaches that have experience working with Lakers star LeBron James.

Just days after the Cleveland Cavaliers parted ways with head coach Larry Drew, the Cavs seem to have already begun narrowing down possible choices as his replacement.

While it would be sad to see Howard go, it would be fantastic to watch him continue his impressive career in the National Basketball Association.
