BTS performs on 'SNL' making history for K-pop

K-pop band BTS has done it again: smashing the YouTube record Blackpink broke only last week.

The group, which was making its "SNL" debut, performed its current radio single "Boy With Luv" and past single "MIC Drop" on Saturday's edition of the program. 1 day, 13 hours, and 38 minutes.

Lots of bands can seem strangely diminished by the SNL stage on TV, but on Saturday night, BTS filled every inch of the frame with flashy motion - tight choreography, bright colors, bold energy - as it performed "Boy With Luv" (from Map of the Soul) and "MIC Drop" (from 2018's Face Yourself). Though several members of the group were still clad in chunky white sneakers, they ditched their suits for loose-fitting trousers and baggy jackets - going for more of a hip-hop vibe.

The K-pop group's performance was highly anticipated, with passionate fans - coined "The Army" - reportedly camped out in front of the studio days in advance in hopes of meeting them.

What new heights will the boys reach? "You know, I just had to look at myself and say, 'Hey".
