Epic Games Has Reportedly Hired Infinity Ward Co-Founder Jason West

Epic Games is known for their poaching skills, getting even the best of developers to become exclusive to their DRM. There's been no official announcement - the news comes courtesy of a tweet from Geoff Keighley.

Jason was the co-founder of Respawn Entertainment, the company which is responsible for developing Titanfall and Apex Legends.

Epic Games has been flexing its financial muscle fueled by the wildly successful Fortnite battle royale game.

A new report from The Game Awards creator and industry veteran Geoff Keighley suggests that Jason West has joined Epic Games. West officially left Respawn back in 2013 due to family issues, and he hasn't had a visible presence in the game industry since. It was not clear whaat Jason West was set to do after leaving Respawn. Additionally, West has apparently been reporting to the Epic Games offices for about a month now, according to Keighley.

West left the company not long after he and Respawn co-founder Vince Zampella settled their lawsuit with Activision. The most obvious guess would be a first-person shooter, given his experience in creating them. Currently, Epic is encouraging more companies to bring their games to the Epic Games Store. However, West also has experience in making massively popular games and that could give Epic Games an advantage.
