Texas man tests Petco’s ‘All leashed animals welcome’ policy with giant steer

A man in - where else - Texas, took it upon himself to test the pet store chain's pledge by bringing his hulking African Watusi steer, Oliver, to a store near Houston.

An attempt to call management's bluff at the Petco in the Northeast Houston suburb of Atascocita. Even though his specific weight is unknown, African Watusi bulls can weigh up to 1,600 pounds, according to Fox News.

The giant watusi was very sweet and gentle as people stopped to pet him and pose for pictures.

You can keep up with Oliver on his Facebook page, here.

Their unusually large horns have the largest circumference found in any cattle breed. "The staff members here are always super friendly and courteous to us".

"We mean it when we say ALL leashed pets are welcome in our stores", the company said on Facebook Tuesday.

The post has since earned more than 400,000 views.

Petco has since responded regarding the steer's visit.

"That is Awesome! I've seen a pot-bellied pig, a goose, and an alligator in our store", wrote one Petco employee in the comments section." Wow! "The whole staff there was really nice about it and excited".
