National Football League free agency rumors: AJ McCarron released by Raiders

Jordy Nelson's late-career run with Jon Gruden and the Oakland Raiders will only last one year.

AJ McCarron's time with the Raiders has come to an end.

During his National Football League career, McCarron has completed 87-of-136 passes for 928 yards with six touchdowns and two interceptions in 13 regular-season games. In fact, there's probably a better chance of Nelson retiring from the National Football League than returning to the Packers next season. "If you watched Jordy play carefully the last four weeks when he's been healthy, you see what he's capable of doing".

"So yeah, he'll be back".

"In a flawless world, I would have played a couple more years in Green Bay", Nelson told ESPN Milwaukee.

Nelson signed a two-year, $14.2-million deal with the Raiders last offseason following 10 seasons with the Green Bay Packers.

Nelson's $3 million salary would've become guaranteed on Friday, and there was a $500,000 roster bonus, so they saved some cash and $3.5 million in salary-cap space.
