Xbox One’s New Phantom White Wireless Controller Is See-Through

And now, the same controller is coming in a white finish.

Next month, Xbox will be expanding its controller lineup by launching the Phantom White Special Edition Xbox Wireless Controller, the second controller from the Phantom Series following the Phantom Black Special Edition. The model features a transparent upper body that fades to opaque white toward the bottom, mixing a traditional appearance with a glimpse at the hardware nestled inside of the device.

"The design is the optimal blend of luxury and Sci-Fi, embodying a new slant on technical beauty", writes Xbox Global Product Marketing Manager Bree White on the Xbox Wire. There are gold mechanical bits to complement the creamy white body, as well as glossy buttons, thumbsticks, and triggers. It's all rounded out by textured grips.

Gamers with grimy hands will want to steer way clear of Microsoft's new Phantom White Xbox wireless controller-it's the sort of thing that will highlight Cheetos residue in ways that darker controllers may not. But if you're just looking for an easy way to cast PC games to your TV and play them with an Xbox One controller, this might be the best way to accomplish that.

As it's based on the latest revision, it sports a 3.5mm headphone jack and, importantly, Bluetooth connectivity for gaming on a PC.

Retailing for $69.99, you can pre-order the new Phantom Controller today, ahead of the April 2 launch.
