Another Amazon device is getting Apple Music support in the US

Amazon also announced the availability of the Apple Music skill will expand to include the United Kingdom for Fire TV and Echo devices in the "coming weeks".

Amazon didn't give an exact date for Apple Music availability, saying only that it was coming "this holiday season" - and unless you consider New Year's Day part of the season, that only leaves December.

Apple is likely facing stiff competition from rival music services.

Although Apple Music won't come to Google Home devices, at least not anytime soon, there are other devices out there waiting to get support for the music streaming service. Amazon Music, Spotify, Pandora, YouTube Music, and more. Expanding to more non iOS devices is a huge step for Apple to stand up against a growing number of competitors. However, if you've haven't enabled the skill yet, open the Alexa app or online.

"Just ask Alexa to play Beats 1 to hear Apple Music's global livestream including in-depth artist interviews- all completely ad-free". Let us know what you think of the service. Every week we have a live Cord Cutting Q&A, and weekly Cord Cutting recap shows exclusively on our YouTube Channel!
