Axiom Verge had a small issue causing crashes on Epic Games' store

While our review praised the game's story, you should know that this title is a little more on the classic side of adventure gaming. According to the game's error log (via ResetEra), the crash is due to a missing file named Steam.xnb.

If you don't want to wait to get Thimbleweed Park free on the Epic Games Store, you can instead pick it up on Steam as part of the Steam Lunar Sale for $7.99 or your regional equivalent, a 60% discount.

Axiom Verge has since been updated to restore functionality.

Axiom Verge allows players to battle with almost 70 unique creatures and very big screen-filling bosses, comes with a Speedrun Mode, features more than 900 unique, interlocking rooms, gobs of unique tools and abilities, loads of weapons, as well as tons of health/power/attribute upgrades.

"The chilling sci-fi setting, mysterious plot, and a seemingly endless number of abilities keep your mind busy, and your curiosity at a fever pitch. There's no excuse to hold onto the past when the present is this fantastic", Peter Brown added.

Currently, Axiom Verge-the 2015 sci-fi shooter that's heavily inspired by the Metroid series-is available for free on the store.

The Epic Game Store has given us some fantastic games since its launch in early December, and Thimbleweed Park is no exception.
