Rain continues, more snow possible Sunday night

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 7 p.m. Saturday through 7 p.m. Sunday.

Cold air is now in place and our weather system is still moving across the country and headed our way.

A little rain may mix in with snow at times as temperatures, mainly in our southern counties, have come just above freezing this afternoon.

Temperatures across the Baltimore region are forecast to peak in the lower 30s during the day Sunday, dropping to the upper 20s early Sunday morning. Once the sun sets, areas roads may turn slick, especially on the south and west sides of the city, where more snow will be accumulating.

Travel will be slick and hazardous over the entire area with deeper snow and more hard conditions the farther south you go.

While the area remains under a Winter Weather Advisory through 6pm Saturday evening, the heaviest snowfall, according to the National Weather Service, will fall north of the Effingham area. At times, snowfall rates could reach 1"-2" per hour.

A snowy Saturday! You've likely been exercising your snow blowers or snow shoveling muscles throughout the day. Highs back to the mid-30s.

There is a slight chance for a few flurries on Monday, otherwise a dry week with milder weather returning on Tuesday.
