The Academy Reportedly Wants Avengers Cast for Hostless Oscars Telecast

Now that Kevin Hart has officially turned down the second chance at hosting the Oscars, even after some poking and prodding from Ellen DeGeneres, the ceremony is officially without a host. But never fear puny citizens, as it looks like The Avengers will be here to save the day. And the cast of The Avengers are The Oscars' number one choice. Instead, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which issues the awards, will go with different celebrities introducing each segment.

With the cast of The Avengers being pretty diverse and reaching far and wide, it could be a stroke of genius from the ceremony. I mean, after all, they do have a movie to promote: Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th.

Since 2012, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has added the likes of Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), Spider-Man (Tom Holland), Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), and The Wasp (Evangeline Lilly). Plus, Brie Larson will make her MCU debut as Captain Marvel in March, so this could be the ideal time to promote the new Marvel movie. Not to forget the scene-stealing secondary characters and villains such as Shuri (Letitia Wright) and Thanos himself (Josh Brolin); and we have a stellar hosting line-up. Over a month later, the Academy Awards have yet to confirm a replacement, with Marvel fans thinking Thor: Ragnarok's Korg would make the flawless host.

Sources told THR that the show that several "Avengers" stars were asked not to present at last Sunday's Golden Globes so that they're appearance at the Oscars could be more impactful for fans of the franchise.
