Pakistan bowlers fight back to defy South Africa

SA vs Pak 3rd Test Day 2 Live Cricket Score Streaming Online, South Africa vs Pakistan Live Cricket Score Streaming: South Africa were at a strong position till Tea on Day 1 of the third Test against Pakistan.

Vernon Philander struck back for South Africa, taking two wickets off successive balls as Pakistan reached 17 for two at the close. Both batsmen fell to away-swingers, nicking to the wicketkeeper.

Opener Imam-ul-Haq (10) and nightwatchman Mohammad Abbas, who survived 13 balls without scoring, will resume on Saturday.

The partnership of 126 between Aiden Markram and Hashim Amla then gave the South Africans a attractive platform with Markram the aggressor in the stand.

The track offered was hands down the best of the series and Markram made the most of it.

Markram made a stroke-filled 90 on 124 balls. He took the attack to Hasan and didn't allow him to get into any sort of rhythm.

Hashim Amla and Markram then started building a partnership, with the latter playing the role of an aggressor. Markram, having hit 16 fours and played with complete control, let a century slip from his grasp when he edged down the leg side to a tame delivery from Faheem. Hamza impressed with the bat as he scored 41 runs.

Hamza replaced suspended regular captain Faf du Plessis and became South Africa's 100th Test cap since the country returned to global cricket in 1991.

Mohammad Amir finished with two for 36, Mohammad Abbas took two for 44, Hasan Ali took two for 75 and Faheem Ashraf claimed three for 57. Hamza was the next one to depart, edging Amir's delivery to the wicketkeeper for 41.

However, Mohammad Abbas trapped De Bruyn lbw to trigger a collapse that saw the final seven South African wickets fall in the space of 17.2 overs in Johannesburg.

Amir grabbed two crucial wickets in quick succession, working over Temba Bavuma with a series of outstanding deliveries before the batsman edged behind. It was Ashraf who brought an end to South Africa's innings by dismissing Duanne Olivier for a duck.

On day 2, Pakistan would look to take the lead over the Proteas, while the bowlers will look to take quick wickets.

Talented youngster Shaheen Shah Afridi could be rested for this final Test as he has started to look somewhat tired as many of their players did in the last Test so Hasan Ali could come back in while spinner Shadab Khan could be handed an opportunity to get some more experience in the Test match format.
