EPL: First player Man United may sign under Solskjaer revealed

After firing Portuguese manager, Jose Mourinho, Manchester United has switched their plans in this winters transfer market.

Manchester United are not going to be signing Senegalese worldwide and Napoli star Kalidou Koulibaly in the winter transfer window if reports in the media are anything to go by.

United are still keen on him, according to the report, despite Mourinho's exit from the club last month.

The Red Devils are determined to sign a commanding centre-back and have identified the Senegalese as their first choice transfer target.

The 27-year-old hinted at a move to Old Trafford last summer by naming the Red Devils as one of the clubs he dreams of playing for.

Initially, the side had cast their eyes on FC Porto star, Eder Militao, but Marca contend United are close to signing Manolas instead.

The report cites the Metro as claiming that Koulibaly has now informed Napoli he wants to move to Old Trafford this month, however, the Italians are determined not to sell in January so the proposed move may be delayed until the summer.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be consulted over United's targets and the club have not ruled out adding to their squad this month.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are now preparing for their crunch Premier League showdown against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley on Sunday afternoon.

He is now expected to be on his way to Manchester United academy where he will continue his football career under Nicky Buti.
