Utah Jazz: LeBron James officially OUT for Friday’s bout in SLC

LeBron injured his groin during Lakers' Christmas day win against the Warriors, and was rushed to the locker room, where initial scans had shown that the injury was not a serious one and could de dealt with pretty quickly.

James, who did some shooting during a Lakers practice session last week, originally suffered the injury midway through the third quarter of the team's win on December 25.

The Lakers have won their past two games that James has missed, including Wednesday's 113-100 win over the Detroit Pistons.

"LeBron James was evaluated by team medical staff and physicians today and has been cleared to increase on-court functional basketball movements." the Lakers statement read. But according to ESPN, coach Luke Walton "did not rule out the possibility of James traveling to Utah on his own Friday for the Jazz game" if he's medically cleared that morning. Kyle Kuzma erupted for 41 points to lead the way in the win. Rubio is expected to miss the game due to a hamstring injury. The Los Angeles Lakers are allowing 34.4 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 46.7 rebounds per game. "It's not like he just had a hot night, he came in and put in that work and then had a really nice night".

Besides Kuzma, the rest of the Lakers' lineup includes Brandon Ingram at the other forward, JaVale McGee in the middle, and Josh Hart and Lonzo Ball at guards, making it one of the youngest starting groups in the league with two 21-year-olds and two 23-year-olds. The Los Angeles Lakers are shooting 34.1 percent from beyond the arc and 68.6 percent from the free throw line. LeBron James is averaging 27.3 points and 7.1 assists while Kyle Kuzma is averaging 18.8 points and 5.7 rebounds. But, he has missed the Lakers' last seven games. The under is 10-3-1 in Jazz last 14 overall.
