Raptors’ Leonard drops to sixth place in National Basketball Association all-star voting

Unlike a year ago, the All-Star draft WILL be televised this season although the draft date has not yet been announced. LeBron still leads all vote-getters with almost 2.8 million votes, while the Greek Freak leads the Eastern Conference with 2.67 million, slightly ahead of Kyrie Irving.

Simmons' 695,032 fan votes this year puts him in ninth among all guards, behind the western conference's leader Steph Curry (2,094,158), Derrick Rose (1,986,840), James Harden (1,674,660), Russell Westbrook (1,494,382) and Klay Thompson (706,960).

The Oklahoma City Thunder's Paul George (1,859,216) has moved up to third place in the West frontcourt, followed by the Golden State Warriors' Kevin Durant (1,717,968) in fourth place and the New Orleans Pelicans' Anthony Davis (1,564,347) in fifth place.

Walker, a reserve in the last two All-Star Games, is now third in Eastern Conference fan voting among guards behind the Boston Celtics' Kyrie Irving and Miami Heat's Dwyane Wade.

Thunder forward Paul George has moved up to third in the second fan returns of All-Star 2019 voting for Western Conference frontcourt players, the National Basketball Association announced Thursday afternoon.

Fans have until 11:59 p.m. ET on January 21 to get their votes in.

The fan votes count for 50 percent of the all-star teams, with player votes accounting for 25 percent of the team, and a media vote for the remainder. Yet, the sixth-year center is sixth in the Western Conference in votes among frontcourt players, and has expanded his lead on Denver's Nikola Jokic to almost 300,000 votes. NBA All-Star weekend will tip off on February 15. The NBA Celebrity and Rising Stars game will be Feb. 15, the Slam Dunk contest and 3-point shootout will be Feb. 16 and the NBA All-Star Game will be at 8 p.m. ET on Feb. 17.
