Knicks, Kings discussing Enes Kanter-Zach Randolph trade

The two-time All-Star played for the Knicks during the 2007-08 season and briefly during the 2008-09 season before being traded to the Clippers. This should give NY added flexibility as far as salary cap concerns.

At 37 years old, Randolph's better days are obviously behind him and it would be shocking if the Knicks attempted to retain him next should they acquire him.

The deal would provide a return to NY for Randolph, who spent 80 games with the Knicks between 2007-2009. Right now, he has hardly been utilized in Sacramento. After living in the basement of the Western Conference standings for over the last decade, the purple and white are finally a decent team as they stand at a record of 20-21 halfway through their campaign. He's making just under $12 million this season.

For Kanter, it provides a much-needed change of scenery as his playing time continues to be sporadic under first-year head coach David Fizdale. Expect a few Knicks players to be traded.

The NBA trade deadline is February 7.

The Knicks and Kings are reportedly discussing a trade that would send center Enes Kanter to Sacramento in exchange for power forward Zach Randolph. On October 1, Stephen Paddock killed at least 58 people and injured more than 450 after he opened fire on a large crowd at the Route 91 Harvest country music festival. Kanter's main focus is on winning. Unfortunately, that seems to be far from happening on the Knicks end - meaning moving on with another team likely aligns with his outlook.
