‘Criminal Minds’ Renewed for 15th and Final Season on CBS

Now, before you freak out, you know that the team will have a chance to say goodbye, as Criminal Minds will end with Season 15 next season, TV Guide has learned. The cast and crew are now hard at work on the show's 14th season.

Dedicated viewers know that season 14's finale is going to include (spoiler alert!) some important moments in the team's lives, including a wedding between David Rossi (Joe Mantegna) and his third ex-wife Krystall (Gail O'Grady), who reunited last season. "It's been successful not only on air but online, in syndication, internationally for ABC (Studios)". "But they respect this series and the cast and the crew and the fans enough to end this properly".

Season 15 will be "more serialized" than is characteristic of the drama, bringing to screen a two-part season opener as well as a "major confession" and a Behavioral Analysis Unit member in peril.

The final season announcement comes with possibility of former beloved characters to possibly return for the series.

"Criminal Minds" was created by Jeff Davis, although the current showrunner is executive producer Erica Tasser.

"That won't be shooting until the spring, so I have some time to think about it, but the hope is to be able to honor all of that history, all of those heroes who have come and gone". NCIS, Grey's Anatomy and Law & Order: SVU are the only live-action, scripted series now on air that have lasted longer.

Criminal Minds is now shooting its 15-episode 14th season, and will stay in production to complete the remaining episodes.
