West Ham tell Arnautovic to honour contract

A Chinese Super League club, believed to be champions Shanghai SiPG, are understood to have launched a £35million swoop for Arnautovic, the Hammers' top scorer.

West Ham should be keeping Arnautovic in an ideal world given he's a major presence in attack, but teammates Javier Hernandez, Lucas Perez or Andy Carroll are not putting serious pressure on him for a starting position. "They paid £20million for him, which is nothing in the current market", he said.

The Austria global has reinvented himself as a centre-forward, scoring 11 times to keep the Hammers up last season. He took every award at the club; best player, signing of the season and the players' award.

West Ham have had some miserable failures in attack for the club over the last decade, with the likes of Mido, Benni McCarthy, Marouane Chamakh and Simone Zaza all struggling upon arrival. We know that we have a very good player in Marko, a lot of clubs may want him to play for them. This is what he wants. It is his great desire that West Ham accept the offer from China.

Marko is professional and is preparing himself for the Arsenal game. That is Marko. He will never change.

That might well be the players wish, and knowing the big money that sides in China pay it really isn't too much of a surprise that his agent might want him to go too, but the club are going to dig their heels in.

Should he be allowed to leave they would demand a striker of similar calibre to improve Pellegrini's squad. Players of his quality and other players like Declan Rice, Felipe Anderson, other clubs will want them, but that is one thing.

But West Ham could enter the race to bring in Wilson as their replacement for star man Arnautovic.

Arnautovic praying he gets to move to China. Marko in this moment is a player of our team.

Chelsea have been linked with a move for Callum Wilson but should they go for Marko Arnautovic?

West Ham's board are not known for releasing the grip on the purse strings too regularly, and given the large outlay prior to the season beginning, the former Manchester City boss may need to deal in free transfers, or use the loan market if he is to make the sufficient additions to his playing personnel this month.

"He is a proven goalscorer and he gives you something different".
