Nokia 8.1 Plus is the company’s most modern-looking phone yet

Renders of an upcoming Nokia smartphone have surfaced online showing off an in-display circular camera cutout, dual rear-facing cameras and a fingerprint scanner on its back. With a successor likely on the horizon, Twitter account Nokia Leaks published what could be the successor's specifications. This will enable the company to trim down the side and top bezels, but the pictures show that the phone does have a noticeable chin and carries the Nokia branding. The leak comes courtesy of 91Mobiles and OnLeaks, which have taken a CAD file and turned it into a render. With the smartphone carrying the Plus name, it's no surprise that the display is said to be 6.22 inches long from corner to corner.

Pre-installed with Android 9 Pie, consumers can expect to have straight forward, pure Android experience as well as security guarantee by Google due to the fact that the Nokia 8.1 is an Android One device. Among the latest in the list is HMD Global who has announced that the Nokia 8.1 will be heading to Malaysia later this month.

It will use a USB-type C charging port, and it will have a dual rear camera with Zeiss lenses and dual flash.

At this point in time it isn't clear when the Nokia 8.1 Plus will see the light of day.

An unannounced Nokia smartphone has leaked in a fresh video and renders, and it bears a close resemblance to the Nokia 8.1 released late previous year. The Nokia 9 PureView is rumoured to come with a more traditional 18:9 display and will highlight a penta-camera system on the back.
