Samsung Galaxy A8S smartphone gets WiFi certification

Samsung will be the first manufacturer in the world to launch a phone that features a punch-hole display.

The Galaxy A8s was first teased a few months ago at the launch of Samsung's Galaxy A9s and Galaxy A6s in China and recently it was certified at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) hinting that the device will soon be launched the US. Meanwhile, Huawei is also working on a similar display panel with a hole for the selfie camera, although we are unsure what the company is calling this display.

In the previous generation Galaxy S, A and Note series, the Infinity Display cascaded to the left and right sides, up to the middle of the frame as well as on top and the base, with only tiny bezels making up the forehead and chin. And there's another difference - unlike Samsung's S10, the Huawei Nova 4 is unlikely to be sold in the U.S. Huawei will launch Nova 4 on December 17 in China which will be the Huawei's first smartphone to come with camera hole in the display. Based on the new user interface, the relevant content can be kept at the bottom half of the display, which can leave the top half for viewing tasks. After this, Samsung unveiled its Foldable phone, along with the Infinity-U, Infinity-V and Infinity-O designs. There is no doubt that the giant will one day come up with the sensor under the screen, but only today is the best possible solution.

As usual, the Wi-Fi Alliance certificate for the Galaxy A8s doesn't reveal anything more apart from its Wi-Fi capabilities. It is expected to be powered by a 3,400mAh battery and sport a USB Type-C port.

If 2018 was the year of the notch, then 2019 might be the year of the hole punch.

The Galaxy A8s will be a mid-range smartphone, and if rumors are to be believed, it will be fueled by one of Qualcomm's mid-range chips, the Snapdragon 710. The upcoming handset is expected to have a 6.3-inch 2340 x 1080 LCD display with a screen aspect ratio of 19.5:9, according to GSM Arena. However, it has been confirmed that the device will be running on Android 8.0 Oreo.
