Ocasio-Cortez tells Mike Huckabee to leave 'false statements' to his daughter

"Ocasio-Cortez compares her election to moon landing".

The remarks Huckabee and right-wing publications seized upon and quickly took out of context came during a Capitol Hill press conference on Friday, during which Ocasio-Cortez said a Green New Deal is achievable because the United States has previously "done what we thought was impossible".

"From jailing children to banning folks based on their religion, this Admin has been criminal from the start", Ocasio continued.

Rep. -elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) on Sunday referred to "death panels", which was popularized nearly a decade ago by Sarah Palin, saying they exist in the private health insurance market.

Part of her campaign platform included advocating for the abolishment of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency.

"We went to the moon".

Newly elected lawmaker Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) doubled down on her decision to compare her Election Day victory to the historic USA moon landing in 1969 - and even retaliated against former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, who mocked her analogy on Sunday evening. We electrified the nation.

In short, even supposing the numbers involved in Ocasio-Cortez's tweet were accurate - a big if - the two reports are not comparable in any meaningful way. Because in every moment when our country has reached the depths of darkness, in every moment when we were at the brink, at the cusp of an abyss, and we did not know if we would be capable of saving ourselves, we have.

"Ocasio-Cortez compares her election to moon landing. Huh?"

He claimed Ocasio-Cortez' wording was wrong because he win was "looney" whereas the moon landing was "lunar".

The former Arkansas governor was mocking the 28-year-old democratic socialist for comparing her election this November to the 1969 Moon landing.

Just a few hours later, Ocasio-Cortez responded to the former governor to clarify her statement in relation to her proposed plan.
