Mitch Marsh Has Been Dropped For The First Test

Rohit Sharma found his way back into the Test squad as India announced their final XII for the first Test against Australia at Adelaide Oval, starting Thursday. With our bowling attack we're very confident and based on a year ago, we had quite a good template there and it worked pretty well (in the Ashes).

"It is important to start fresh in each and every series. That will be really helpful in (winning the series) in Australia", said Rahane.

"Last time here, we really enjoyed batting together a lot, especially at the MCG", Rahane recalled.

The Indian batting line-up is the best in the world but not untameable if talismanic skipper Virat Kohli is kept in check, feels Australia vice-captain and pacer Josh Hazlewood.

"Mitchell Johnson was really going after Virat Kohli and I was at the other end playing my game. This is a team sport and Virat also understands that". "I was able to focus on my game, I still attacked but I was completely the opposite to Virat", Rahane said.

The Indian batting line-up has come under huge criticism for their twin failures in South Africa and England, wherein Kohli was the only one to defy the opposition.

Kohli averaged 86.50 with the bat that series, scoring 692 runs in eight innings, including four centuries. "So I think it's very even heading this", he said.

"If you compare the two sides, the bowling sides of the two teams are even". We're due for a big summer, I'm looking forward to it. But on a given day anyone can score runs.

"Then, when you bat with lower-order batsmen, you perhaps know whether to attack or play a defensive game and have a partnership with those guys".

Hazlewood also dismissed the threat Indian pace bowlers possess, claiming the batsmen face enough fire in the nets to be prepared for any challenge that is dished out at them. When you bat in England against Duke's ball, you know you are never set in those conditions.
