Rocksteady Rules Out Appearance at The Game Awards 2018

The developer has insisted that it's done with Batman, but we have very few clues as to what's next. With The Game Awards coming up next week and promising 10 new game announcements, there had been some speculation that such a project could be announced during the show.

Rocksteady game director Sefton Hill tempered expectations on Twitter, stating, "Looking forward to #TheGameAwards this year!" According to Kotaku's Jason Schreier, Rocksteady is now developing a hero game that will be a Games as a Service (GaaS).

Rumors of a Superman game from Rocksteady surfaced yet again earlier this week, but the studio's boss said it's next game doesn't star the Man of Steel. This has been the most persistent rumor in recent years regarding Rocksteady's upcoming projects. Considering their past work with Batman and a slew of "leaks" that didn't have much backing them up, the advent of a Superman video game being worked on by Rocksteady seemed to have potential.

Rocksteady's game is most likely a next-gen title so you should not expect it anytime soon! No one has really been able to do Superman justice.

While it's a shame that we won't see what Rocksteady is working on next week at The Game Awards, at least we can now finally end the Superman talk that has surrounded the company forever at this point.
