Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade welcome first child via surrogate

On Twitter, Wade shared a video clip unearthed by Associated Press reporter Tim Reynolds that showed him discuss the importance of being around family while announcing he'll have "one last dance" before ending his basketball career.

The couple has been trying to have a child of their own for years, but, as Union has bravely revealed publicly, they have struggled for some time with infertility. Welcome to the party sweet girl!'

Union shared the happy news to her Instagram page on Thursday, posting sweet photos of the couple cradling their new bundle of joy, with lyrics from Bill Withers' song, "Lovely Day".

"I have had eight or nine miscarriages", Union wrote in her book.

This is Union's first child and, also, the couple's first, together.

"In order to tell you the exact number, I would have to get my medical records", she told People magazine back in 2017, guessing the number was eight or nine.

Their plight nearly caused the actress to give up her dreams of having a baby altogether, until they chose to use a surrogate.

'For three years, my body has been a prisoner of trying to get pregnant - I've either been about to go into an IVF cycle, in the middle of an IVF cycle, or coming out of an IVF cycle'. His three sons are Zaire, Xavier and Zion, and Zaire Wade is now a junior at American Heritage High in Plantation and a college basketball recruit that has received a scholarship offer from Nebraska, Union's alma mater.
