Steelers Could Tag Le'Veon Bell At QB Number In 2019

Le'Veon Bell has still not reported to the Steelers to sign his franchise tender for the 2018 season.

Pictures and videos circulated online late Tuesday of Bell in the club. It was indeed Bell and he is indeed back in Pittsburgh.

Despite the video, there was no indication Wednesday that Bell had visited the team's facility.

Bell has played five seasons with Pittsburgh since getting drafted by the organization in the second round in 2013 out of Michigan State. Bell has failed to sign his $14.5 million franchise tender while preserving his long-term health for a future lucrative contract.

Many expect Bell to report to the Steelers by 4 p.m. ET next Tuesday, the deadline for eligibility to play this season, but he reportedly has had no contact with the Steelers this week, and the team remains in the dark about his plans.

So if Pittsburgh made a decision to put the franchise tag on Bell again next offseason, it would be the third tag.

The Steelers could use the transition tag on him, which would be worth less than the exclusive franchise tag they used this season.

The transition tag would allow Bell to negotiate with other teams and allow the Steelers to match any offer.

"Just about everybody has an opinion on my life & anxious about what I'm doing", Bell wrote.

If he plays games this year, the Steelers could try to prove Bell's transition tag should be prorated. If you scan the comments on Twitter it really feels like fans have had enough of the Bell drama and would just as soon he stay LA Fitness. & that's clearly on them. I'm not apologizing for what I believe is right for myself, family, and rest of my peers, period.
