Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg hospitalized after fracturing 3 ribs in fall

If you recall, this is not the first time Ginsburg has broken her ribs.

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has been hospitalized following a fall in her office.

A statement from the court said that Ginsburg returned home Wednesday night but went to the hospital early Thursday after "experiencing discomfort overnight". The same thing happened in 2012, when she broke two ribs and then went right back to work the next day despite being in pain. "Tests showed that she fractured three ribs on her left side and she was admitted for observation and treatment". She has also reportedly hired law clerks through 2020, sending the message that she plans on sticking around. Updates will be provided as they become available. We all wish Justice Ginsburg a very speedy recovery.

Ginsburg joined the court in 1993.

That said, it would probably be healthy for her to resign.

In the 2018 midterm elections, Republicans won seats in the U.S. Senate, making future Supreme Court confirmation battles easier.

It means Ms Ginsburg will not be present for Thursday's investiture of new Supreme Court judge Brett Kavanaugh, whose appointment led to protests following allegations of sexual misconduct. "My senior colleague, Justice John Paul Stevens, he stepped down when he was 90, so I think I have about at least five more years".
