Dez Bryant Signs With Saints

Bryant, who turned 30 on Sunday, has been a free agent since he was released by Dallas in April.

New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis is more or less legendary in his ability to navigate the salary cap, and he's done it again in signing former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant. The most impressive run of Bryant's career came from 2012 to 2014, as he topped 1,230 yards and 12 touchdowns in each season.

Bryant retweeted a person congratulating him on landing with the Saints, who lost receiver Ted Ginn Jr. for the year. He also called Cowboys owner Jerry Jones "clueless" and blamed his release on veterans Travis Frederick and Sean Lee. The Saints are scheduled to play the Cowboys in AT&T Stadium in primetime on Thursday night, November 29th in a Week 13 matchup.

New Orleans appears to be all-in on a Super Bowl run, with 39-year-old quarterback Drew Brees having one of the best seasons of his career as the Saints continue to make aggressive moves to fill holes in the lineup. I got to hook up with him a couple of weeks back, and I saw the way he looked and he was - he looks like an animal right now.

There are certainly benefits to working from home, especially if you're a parent: usually you get to interact with your kids if they're home, if not all day then at least part of the day, or you're able to do small but important things like pick them up from the bus stop. You're getting a very passionate individual.

And the news of Bryant's arrival in The Big Easy was met with excitement in the Saints' locker room. I think for any new guy coming in, especially a skill player, it's new verbiage.

"Dez is a great player".

"I'm really happy for him and that opportunity", Garrett said, via USA Today.

"I don't know how much carryover there will be from what he had in Dallas - it's probably not a lot - so that's a process".
