President Donald Trump tore into CNN's Jim Acosta during a press conference in the White House on Wednesday, attacking the reporter as a "rude, bad person".

Acosta kept asking and the president, who held the presser to tout Republican wins in Tuesday's election, had enough and told him to sit down.

Finally, Trump snapped at Acosta.

Trump was also pressed on why his campaign aired an ad featuring a Mexican immigrant convicted of killing American police officers and linking the man's actions to the caravan.

"When you report fake news, which CNN does a lot, you are the enemy of the people", Trump told Acosta. "It was true. Do you think they were actors?"

"Honestly, I think you should let me run the country, you run CNN, and if you did it well your ratings would be much better", Trump said.

After a testy exchange with CNN's Jim Acosta, NBC's Peter Alexander was next to receive the microphone. 'That's enough. That's enough'.

Trump had particularly nasty words for CNN's Jim Acosta, who said he wanted to challenge a statement Trump made during the midterm campaigns.

"That's enough. Put down the mic".

Mr. Acosta then refused to give up the microphone. "The way you treat Sarah Huckabee is awful", he said, referring to the White House press secretary. "You shouldn't treat people that way".

Acosta repeatedly presses Sanders in her rare briefings to clarify quotes and policy from the president.
