Elon Musk says first tunnel is nearly done, opens December 10: tweet

The public could get a chance to take a test ride on the Boring Company's futuristic, high-speed, underground traffic shortcut as soon as December 11.

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said on Twitter on Sunday that his Boring Company, which aims to lower the cost of building high-speed transit tunnels, has nearly completed its first tunnel. Since then, Musk has purchased a boring machine to tunnel under the Los Angeles neighborhood with the hope of making modifications to the machinery that will allow tunnels to be dug more quickly. He also said he'd like to include transit pods that can carry pedestrians and cyclists through the subterranean system. "OK Fortnite just told Elon Musk 'Just Build LOL" That's It.

The company is also working on other projects including a Dugout Loop in Los Angeles to transport baseball fans directly to Dodger Stadium, and an express service from O'Hare airport to downtown Chicago.

When asked if the December 10 date represented real time or "Elon time", the entrepreneur wrote, "I think real". Musk shared a photoshopped picture of the article which claimed that, "Elon Musk buys Fortnite and deletes it", which was followed by a fake quote from the entrepreneur stating, "I had to save these kids from eternal virginity".
