Lyricist Sameer defends Anu Malik after sexual harassment allegations

"I, Anu Malik, have made a decision to take a break from Indian Idol as I am now unable to focus on my work on the show".

However, Anu Mallik has denied all the allegations and called it ridiculous. "The show will continue its planned schedule and we will invite some of the biggest names in Indian music as guests to join Vishal and Neha to judge the extraordinary talent of Indian Idol season 10", the statement read.

Shweta wrote that it had taken her a lot for her 'to open up this wound again and speak up against this pedophile and sexual predator.' She wrote, "I used to admire his music and practice his songs for hours and look upto him back then!" She pushed him away which is when he said that "I am happy with my wife, I am a sensitive man". Lyricist Sameer Anjaan also defended him and tweeted that no such incident took place.

After Anu Malik refuted the claims made by Shweta Pandit calling them "false and baseless", Sameer has also come out in his support. After she was done singing, he complimented her and said he'll let her know if he has work for her in the future.

Another woman, who is an aspiring singer, alleged that she was approached to participate on Indian Idol 10 as a wild card entry but she refused the offer because Malik had sexually harassed her seven years ago. "My client respects the #MeToo movement, but to use this movement to start a character assassination mission is obnoxious". Luckily, the doorbell rang at that moment."She said that he threatened her and told her not talk about the incident with anyone. She was startled. The cameraman, who was sitting in the front seat, wasn't aware of what was going on behind him", Ms D'Souza told mid-day. She isn't the first one to have named and shamed Anu.

While recounting the incident, the survivor told Mid-Day, "He simply unzipped his trousers and asked me to lick him!" Various names such as Alok Nath, Vikas Behl, Rajat Kapoor, Sajid Kapoor have been allegedly accused of sexual misconduct.
