Halloween Star Jamie Lee Curtis Isn’t A Fan Of Scary Movies

She said that she insisted to the filmmakers that her character, Laurie Strode, would only use guns for self-defence and would keep them locked away. The outlet argues that this is a glaring testament to her blatant hypocrisy.

Curtis spoke with USA Today about her views on gun control.

Jamie Lee Curtis is very busy promoting her upcoming "Halloween" movie, but a story by Fox News has forced her to face accusations of gun control hypocrisy.

Amazing, isn't it, that actors can play characters that don't represent their real-world ideals and opinions?

On Wednesday, Fox News generated a lot of unintended online hilarity with an article that tried to manufacture a political statement out of Jamie Lee Curtis' latest acting job.

"I think there were myriad types of firearms that could have been used in the movie", she said. "And they have to renew their license just like we do with automobiles - which are weapons also".

"The support she never got, the mental health services she never got, the loving support of friends and family she never got, and here was a movie crew who were all wearing these name tags", Curtis shared.

It finds Laurie forty years after the events of the original film; preparing to face Michael Myers four decades after his killing spree.

"I recognized that if I didn't stop doing horror movies when Halloween II happened, I knew I would have no other opportunities", Curtis told SYFY FANGRRLS when we sat down with her ahead of the film's release.

Curtis then went on the share that Laurie could have used a whole slew of weapons, but she wanted her character to only use weapons that are used for "self-defense". "I have to be responsible for my own personal choices in my own personal life". "I mean, you could make a cast list, but you'd just roll your eyes at it".
