Stardew Valley is coming to mobile

"Today, I've got some exciting news to share with everyone", said Stardew Valley creator Eric Barone in a recent blog post.

If you haven't heard of Stardew Valley, it's basically Harvest Moon but a pixelated version. Mods aren't supported, but the game will have all version 1.3 content (like the Night Market).

It's the full game, not a cut down version, and plays nearly identically to all other versions. The iOS version will arrive first, but the developers are now working on finishing up the Android version, so we should get more news on an exact launch date soon.

I might not be necessarily eager to get back to the Valley, but if I did, it's nice to know I could bring along my established farms. Well, at least iOS users will since the Android version of the game isn't finished yet.

A release window for Android was not provided.

The developer adds that the iOS version will be available for $7.99 and won't offer in-app purchases. It's unclear whether the Android version will take the same approach or deliver a free-to-play solution. The game was originally released on PC in 2016, making its way to Xbox One and PS4 shortly thereafter.

In addition, you can transfer your PC save date to the iOS version via iTunes - though the mobile version does not support mods, so save files of modded games may struggle to transfer over. Stardew Valley is the sort of twee indie game that makes the jump to mobile very easily, just like it's predecessor series Harvest Moon did with the 3DS. Now, about a Dreamcast release...
