Selena Gomez Has Been Hospitalised After Suffering "Emotional Breakdown"

Sources told TMZ a family member took Gomez to Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles, and though she was released a few days later, she was readmitted late last week because her low blood cell count hadn't changed and it had sent Gomez into a downward emotional spiral.

Selena Gomez has entered a mental health facility after an "emotional breakdown" over recurring issues that followed her kidney transplant, according to reports. "After further monitoring it was decided that Selena would seek treatment at a facility".

Gomez allegedly tried to leave against doctor's orders, and even attempted to rip the IV out of her arm.

In 2017, Selena underwent a kidney transplant when her Lupus condition left her organs inflamed, though it seems the star is still suffering from the side-effects.

It's not the first time Gomez has sought professional treatment to address anxiety, panic attacks, and depression triggered by her lupus.

Insiders claim Gomez hopes that dialectical behavior therapy - which aims to identify and avoid patterns of negative thinking - will help her cope with the stress surrounding her health.

In February 2018, Gomez completed two weeks in rehab for depression and anxiety, marking her third time in treatment for her issues, after which sources told Page Six she was avoiding alcohol. TMZ adds that there have been signals from her camp in the past few weeks. She's gone through it before, so it's not a completely new experience for the actor and singer.

She took yet another self-enforced break from social media at the end of September, saying she wanted to step back and feel grateful "for the moment she'd been given". "Obvi", she wrote on September 23.
