Nokia 8110 4G ‘Banana Phone’ launched in India: Price, specs and more

HMD Global just announced two new Nokia phones in India.

If you're like me, devices that rely overly on numbers rather than names or something get a bit confusing, and so it is for me with keeping track of HMD Nokia's new handsets.

Nokia 7.1 Plus stops by Geekbench ahead of its announcement tomorrow - GSMArena.com news

According to persistent reports, the Nokia 7.1 Plus features a 6.18-inch notched display with Full HD+ resolution of 1080×2280 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9. Airtel is offering up to 1TB data free for those who get a recharge of Rs 199 or higher. On the rear, we can also spot the circular fingerprint sensor. You also get up to 32GB of internal storage which is expandable via microSD card up to 400GB. The primary camera setup comprises one 12MP sensor with f/1.9 aperture and the other lens is a 13MP sensor.

The phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo, perhaps disappointingly, considering that Pie has been out for a while now and HMD itself is already in the process of updating its older devices to the latest iteration of Google's OS. Unlike the Nokia 6.1 Plus and the 5.1 Plus that sports glass rear backs, the Nokia 3.1 Plus employs metal-plastic combo rear panel. The "banana phone" is finally here - Nokia 8110 4G. The company has retained the slider design, and the curved body from the original device. For Rs 11,499, Nokia is touting its massive display for overall good multimedia experience, great photography experience and a two-day battery life. You can slide the lower half of the phone to take calls and push it back to cut the call. The Nokia 8110 4G will be available in Traditional Black and Banana Yellow colours when it goes on sale. The feature phone runs Smart Feature OS based on KaiOS and comes preloaded with a revamped Snake game that was also seen on the Nokia 3310 past year. Additionally, the Nokia 8110 4G houses a 1500mAh battery that offers up to 25 days of standby time and up to 9.32 hours of talk time (VoLTE call). It packs a 1.1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 205 dual-core processor coupled with 512MB RAM and 4GB internal memory. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/AGPS, micro-USB 2.0, FM, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
