Former premier Nawaz Sharif, daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (retired) Safdar, who were serving sentences in Adiala jail, were released on a five day parole hours after the demise of the former first lady.

Shehbaz Sharif along with Begum Kulsoom's daughter Asma, grandson Zayd Hussain Sharif and 11 other family members accompanied the body to Lahore. Among the attendees were Hassan and Hussain Nawaz, Shehbaz Sharif, PML-N leaders Chaudhry Nisar and Muhammad Ishaq Dar.

Ousted as prime minister last year by the Supreme Court over some undeclared income, Nawaz Sharif was in London with Kulsoom this year when a separate anti-graft court handed him a 10-year jail term in absentia over the ownership of luxury flats in London in the 1990s. "In case of a delay in Begum Kulsoom's funeral, the parole will be further extended", the spokesperson added.

Hassan and Hussain Nawaz, Begum Kulsoom's sons, did not return to the country for their mother's funeral. He had to intervene and submit the parole request on their behalf.

A plane carrying the body of Kulsoom Nawaz, the wife of former Pakistan prime minister Nawaz Sharif, from London has reached Lahore, where she will be buried later today.

PML-N leaders and family members have been arriving at their residence to extend condolences. The family is now meeting people in Jati Umra, who have come to pay homage to Begum Kulsoom.

Kulsoom will be laid to rest on Friday. The body will be taken straightway to the Heathrow airport from the Park for bringing it back through PK-758.

Sons of Hussain Nawaz have also come along with the body.

According to reports from London, Nimaze Jinaza of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz will be offered at Regent Park Mosque London at 12:15pm local time.

Maryam said Tuesday night she was "deeply saddened" by the fact that she was unable to be by the bedside of her ailing mother during her last moments. "It was extremely painful to know that I wasn't by my mother's side", she said.

Azaz Syed, a reporter for GEO news covered the prep and dimensions of the grave and immediately got a ton of hate for it.
