Alli, Lloris out for game against Liverpool

Liverpool have a tough run of fixtures after the Tottenham game including Champions League clashes with Paris Saint-Germain and Napoli, and a double-header against Chelsea.

Clinton Morrison believes that Liverpool are the standout contenders to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title this season.

The Reds resume their Premier League campaign on Saturday after the global break, looking to extend their unbeaten start to 2018/19. "We have to do that, we have to rotate - [but] I don't know if we'd call it "rotation". That's too complicated; you have to go into the next game and see who you can choose. When we talk about midfielders like Xavi and [Andres] Iniesta, he's like this type of player, but, please, he needs to take my words in a very positive way.

"The Champions League - if I was Liverpool, I would kick it into touch". We don't play Champions League or what? "He told me "boss it's a massive lesson for me, I made a mistake and need to pay" and now he's accepted (it) like a man that he is".

However, their backline looks sets for a stern examination at Wembley this Saturday lunchtime as they try to gain revenge for the 4-1 defeat they suffered against Spurs at the home of football last season.

"If it's late in the season that you see you have a chance to do that or do this and all that stuff".

"What I would say is Liverpool have solved the problems they had against Spurs past year, particularly at Wembley when Kane scored and Lovren made a couple of mistakes". I don't want to be too critical because I don't know exactly how he said it but sitting in an office and talking about football is completely different to doing the job, to be honest.

Liverpool's intensity dropped between the West Ham and Leicester games but we've been more reliable on the defence so haven't paid the price.

"The first four weeks we had the same lineup and we changed one position, but it was to get a good start to create a base".

"It's been so long since Liverpool won the league - I was still playing!"

"After that we had pretty good results and I don't think we conceded a lot of goals".

Tottenham are coming off an impressive 3-0 win against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
