Last Meetings - Everton Finalising Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes Arrivals

Everton are conducting the final round of talks as they look to rush through deals for Barcelona's Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes before the 5pm Premier League deadline.

Mina has been linked with several clubs this summer, including Manchester United, but his arrival will bolster the Everton back-line.

The signing of Mina by the Camp Nou side can still be seen as a success off the pitch if not quite on it, after the club had only signed him in January for 11.8 million. Six months later and after a good World Cup, they have moved him on for nearly three times what they paid for him, despite him never quite performing during his short stay.

Colombia defender Mina, who impressed in the World Cup, could eventually cost €31.75million, while Gomes arrives on a season-long loan.

After penning his deal, Mina revealed a Premier League move was impossible to resist and wants to help Everton progress under new manager Marco Silva.

The fee could rise by 1.5 million euros (RM7.1 million), and Barcelona have inserted a buy-back clause in the player's contract.

"I spoke to Lucas and he told me all about the Club, which also made me keen to come here. I believe I will be able to show my best as a player here".

The new players could take a while to adapt to their new surroundings, but it is imperative that Everton start the season strongly and pick up important points in the opening weeks of the 2018-19 campaign.

"Everton is historically the fourth most successful club in England", said Bernard.
