Samsung Note 9 launch

"Note fans are Samsung's most loyal; we know they want it all, to get the most out of work and play, and Galaxy Note 9 is the only phone that can keep up with their busy lives".

Anyone who places a preorder for a Galaxy Note 9 between August 10, 2018 and August 23, 2018 can choose between a bonus gift of a pair of AKG noise-cancelling headphones ($299 retail value) or the Fortnite Galaxy skin along with 15,000 V-bucks ($150 retail value), for free-or get both for just $99 ($449 retail value). We're also running a live blog below.

Since the Note 8 device launched past year, the company introduced an eight-step battery safety check process and additional testing from a third-party safety company. The new S-Pen can now take photographs as Samsung's neatly demonstrated in its presentation. At over 200g, it will be interesting to see how this impacts long-term usage, as we found weight to be a bit of a concern with the Galaxy Note 8 itself.

That camera array was bumped up to the Galaxy S9+'s system of a 12MP dual-aperture f/1.5-2.4 wide and 12MP f/2.4 telephoto cameras - both optically stabilized and both polished with Samsung's new Intelligent Camera, which will detect scenes, optimize colors and contrast and detect flaws such as a smudgy lens or subject that has closed his eyes. At the other, it's also catering towards the need of business users by upgrading the phablet's S-Pen. There's also an exclusive Fortnite beta for Galaxy owners, including Note 9 buyers.

To start with the Samsung Galaxy Note9 has mostly retained the footprint of its predecessor but added a bigger 6.4-inch screen (notchless, naturally) and a 20% bigger 4,000mAh battery.

There's no under the display fingerprint scanner on the Galaxy Note9 but the rear-placed one has moved to a more sensible center position under the dual camera module.

You won't be surprised to hear that all of the major carriers are getting in on the Galaxy Note 9 this year. You can set up similar actions for every standard app, and third parties will be able to build S Pen support into their apps as well. If that's that not quite enough for you, there's even a variant with a whopping 512GB storage and 8GB of RAM.

Finally, we have the Galaxy Note 9's camera performance.

With the addition of a super capacitor, it can now run for 30 minutes when charged for just 40 seconds (by sliding it back into the phone). The 512GB model will only be available in Midnight Black. And it's exactly what we have expected it to be.
