Everton's Lucas Digne explains 'never walk alone' tattoo on chest

All that trolling over a tattoo.

.

Digne, 25, signed with Everton from Barcelona on August 1, but the defender caused a bit of an uproar among supporters when it came to light that he had the words to the Anfield anthem tattooed across his chest.

Lucas Digne has hit back at the Liverpool fans who mocked him for his "I never walk alone" tattoo - by claiming they are only angry because he turned down the chance to move to Anfield twice.

"My tattoo has a story but it's not about football", Digne defends himself during his unveiling at Every one.

The French worldwide revealed that he turned down the chance to move to the Reds on two occasions in the past and suggested that perhaps Liverpool fans were criticising him out of bitterness.

However, French full back Digne who recently completed his move to Everton for a fee worth £20 million, has revealed that he has personally contacted Mina trying to persuade him to join him at Goodison Park ahead of the new season.

Digne started his career at Lille in 2011 and then joined Paris Saint-Germain two years later where he made 44 appearances.

He added: 'Maybe Liverpool fans are so angry against me because I said two times no to Liverpool.

When asked if he would like to see former FC Barcelona team-mate Yerry Mina at Everton, Digne said: "I hope to see him here, but I don't know [what will happen]".

Digne also alludes that Liverpool fans are not happy with him after he said no twice to The Reds' move to sign him.
