Elderly Men Leave Nursing Home To Go To World's Biggest Metal Festival

According to a report from German global broadcaster Deutsche Welle, two elderly men fled a nursing home on Friday to attend the world's largest heavy metal festival, Wacken Open Air.

If that isn't goals we're not sure what is.

The old boys skipped out on their home on Friday and apparently nicked off over to the giant Wacken Open Air festival for a day of banging their geriatric heads to a lineup of some of the biggest names in metal.

But police, sensing the men's reluctance to leave, sent a patrol auto to follow the taxi to make sure there were no mishaps.

A pair of elderly German men escaped from their nursing home to go to a heavy metal festival, it was reported.

"They obviously liked the metal festival", police spokeswoman Merle Neufeld told Norddeutscher Rundfunk. "The care home quickly organised a return transport after police picked them up".

Although Wacken has the notorious reputation of being the muddiest open air event in the world, this year organizers warned fans against fire and dust due to enormous heatwave.

The festival was sold out and around 75,000 people are believed to have attended between 1-4 August.

According to Deutsche Welle, headline acts this year included Danzig, Judas Priest, Hatebreed, In Flames, Running Wild, Arch Enemy, In Extremo and Eskimo Callboy.

Police praised revelers this year for good behavior with little interference needed from police beside a few minor drug seizures.
